MUZAFFARABAD: Three men lost their lives in a tragic head-on collision between two motorcycles in the Bhimber district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), police reported on Monday.The fatal accident occurred at around 10 pm on Sunday in the village of Mohrra Saddah, situated along the Bhimber-Gujrat road, according to Station House Officer (SHO) Bhimber, Rafaqt Ilyas Abbasi, who spoke to Dawn via telephone.

“The impact of the collision was so severe that the two riders died instantly, while the third succumbed to his injuries while being transferred from the DHQ Hospital Bhimber to a hospital in Gujrat,” SHO Abbasi said. The deceased have been identified as Muhammad Usman, son of Javed Iqbal, Ali Ehtisham, son of Khalid Barkat, and Bilal, son of Anwarul Haq, all residents of the Bharing area.

The tragic incident sent shockwaves through the local community, who attended their funerals on Monday in a large number.AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq and his political rival, PML-N regional Secretary General Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, both expressed profound grief and sorrow over the loss of the three young men.

In their separate condolence messages to the bereaved families, they offered prayers for the departed souls and strength for their loved ones.
