LAHORE, March 30: Twenty-eight coaches will take part in the second course being held by the Pakistan Weightlifting Federation in Lahore from Saturday. Earlier, the federation held the first course in Islamabad.

The third course will be held in Quetta in June.

The PWF secretary Hafiz Imran Butt said that the coaches, attending the course, were from Higher Education Commission, Railways, Wapda and Lahore.

The course is being held with the collaboration of the Pakistan Sports Trust.

It may be mentioned, Pakistan only gold medal in the 18th Commonwealth Games came through a weightlifter—Shujauddin Butt.

Mohammad Irfan, another weightlifter, won a bronze medal.

The secretary said the course would help the federation prepare skillful coaches, who were essential to produce more weightlifters like Shuja and Irfan.
