BAHAWALNAGAR: A man turned out to be the kidnapper of his infant nephew at village Madressah.

The district police spokesperson told Dawn that 10-month-old Abu Bakar, son of Khalid Farooq of Basti Kaporan, was abducted by unidentified men on Aug 30 when he was alone with two of his minor brothers Ali (5) and Taimur (3) at home.

A kidnap case was registered against unidentified persons on the complaint of Khalid.

Meanwhile, a police team, under the supervision of the SHO Madrassa, prepared a list of suspects with the help of CCTV footage installed at specific locations in the village and its surroundings, informers and call record data of the family of the child.

The team successfully traced the two suspects, who were relatives of the victim, within a short period of time.

The kidnapper turned out to be Mubarik Ali, a brother of Khalid Farooq.

Police arrested him and during interrogation, he told the police that he had kidnapped the child because he wanted to raise him as his own son being childless.

Police recovered the abducted child from his house from Pakpattan.

GANG-RAPE: Two teens have been arrested for gang-raping a schoolgirl in McLeod Ganj.

Police said two teenagers of village Lala Amar Singh took a 15-year-old girl to a nearby shop on Sunday night.

The suspects gang-raped her inside the shop and fled. A case was registered with McLeod Ganj police on the complaint of the victim’s mother.

Police said that the suspects were arrested when they were trying to flee from the city.
