MIRPURKHAS: Intermittent light showers lashed the already flooding-hit districts of Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar and Naushahro Feroze districts on Tuesday.

Hit by an almost a week of light, moderate and heavy rainfalls, the districts many cities and towns are flooded by rainwater and sewage. Electricity supply to the areas has not been completely restored despite three days of dry weather.

With the light showers, power supply to many areas in Mirpurkhas city and its adjoining towns and villages remained suspended or frequently disrupted.

Dwellings in low-lying areas remained submerged under sewage-mixed rainwater.

Failure of municipality workers to drain the stinking water kept routine life in the affected areas crippled.

Many areas in Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar and Naushahro Feroze received moderate rains in the fresh spell on Tuesday.

The cities and towns lashed by the rain included Nawabshah, Sakrand, Jam Sahab, Sanghar, Shahpur Chakar, Tando Adam, Jam Nawaz Ali, Naushahro Feroze and Moro.
