ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday lauded the courage of excavator dri­ver Mohibullah for saving the lives of the people who were trapped in the flash flood in Qila Abdullah by risking his own life.

The prime minister was talking to driver Mohib­ul­lah, who was invited to the Prime Minister’s House. Upon his arrival at PM House, Mohibullah was warmly welcomed by the prime minister and members of the federal cabinet.

According to the Prime Minister Office (PMO), Mr Sharif, while commending the guest, said: “You are the hero of the nation for saving precious human lives by showing courage.”

The prime minister rewarded him with Rs2.5 million on behalf of the government in recognition of his bravery.

He also announced provision of free education to Mohibullah’s children up to university level as well as free health facilities for his family members.

“The entire nation, including me, is proud of you and I deeply admire your love for humanity,” the prime minister said.

Mohibullah thanked the prime minister and the government for appreciating his step and sparing valuable time for him. He said it is an honour for him to meet the prime minister and he is deeply grateful for being honoured by the prime minister on his arrival at the Prime Minister House.
