CHARSADDA: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim has directed the planning and development wing of high court to ensure provision of facilities to litigant at all costs.

The chief justice said this while inaugurating the judicial complex during his visit to tehsil Shabqadar here on Thursday. High court senior puisne judge Justice Ijaz Anwar, registrar and other principal officers were also present on the occasion.

District and Sessions Judge of Charsadda, his team of judicial officers, members of district bar association, tehsil bar association, Peshawar High Court Bar Association, vice chairman of KP Bar Council and other bar members extended a warm welcome to the chief justice and other guests.

The chief justice was given a presentation on the project. Later, the district and sessions judge led a guided tour of the complex.

During the ceremony, the district and sessions judge expressed gratitude to the chief justice, the senior pusine judge, and other dignitaries for their presence and emphasised the importance of the new judicial building in providing quick justice to litigants.

The tehsil bar president presented demands of the bar, including enhanced security at the new complex, an e-library facility, and solarisation.

In his closing remarks, the chief justice described the day as momentous, saying that he lamented inadequate facilities for the litigants in judicial complexes and that he had directed the planning and development wing of Peshawar High Court to ensure the provision of the litigant’s most needed facilities in future projects.

The chief justice referred to the recent case management initiatives leading to a remarkable reduction of 1,000 cases in the district court’s pendency in three months. The CJ assured beefing up the court’s security, extension of a virtual hearing facility and favourable consideration of other demands of the bar as per the high court’s policy.

Given the heavy pendency of civil cases, the chief justice said that a civil judge shall be posted at tehsil Shabqadar, besides the work on judicial complex Tangi shall be immediatelycommenced.
