LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari continues with her tirade against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf supremo saying he conspired against PML-N President Nawaz Sharif in the 2018 polls.

“The prisoner [Imran Khan] of Adiala Jail conspired against Nawaz Sharif and took over power through the backdoor by manipulating the RTS in 2018,” she said in a statement here on Thursday.

She said that Imran Khan talked about dropping an atomic bomb on Pakistan and breaking it into three parts. Those who attacked military installations and burned statues of martyrs should not talk about peace, she said.

Ms Bokhari further said that the PTI was a party born out of sit-ins and rigging. “Instead of staging drama in Islamabad, they should do it in Peshawar,” she said with reference to the PTI’s planned rally on Sept 8 in Islamabad.

The information minister said Nawaz Sharif believed in the constitution, law and democracy, whereas the prisoner from Adiala Jail sought “facilitation”. “Nawaz Sharif has been acquitted of false cases. Now, his party is in power both in the Centre and Punjab. Those who conspired against him have met their fate,” she said.

Addressing PTI leader Omar Ayub, Azma Bokhari asked why did he obtain a stay order after contesting elections from a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa constituency? The money that is meant for the welfare of the KP should not be wasted on his luxuries, she lambasted.
