KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has assured Sindh Minister for Energy Syed Nasir Hussain Shah that he would speak to the federal government for the release of funds for the rehabilitation of flood-hit people and infrastructure.

Mr Shah called on the PPP chairman at Bilawal House in Islamabad on Thursday, according to a handout.

It said that the minister urged the party chairman to speak to the federal government for the release of the withheld funds.

Mr Shah informed him that the federal government had promised to build houses for [2022] flood victims and rehabilitate the infrastructure in Sindh.

However, he said, the Centre had not yet released the funds.

The handout said that Mr Bhutto-Zardari assured Mr Shah that he would discuss the matter with the federal government as soon as possible.
