LARKANA: Over 50 leaders and members of different Sindhi nationalist organisations announced on Thursday quitting nationalist politics and embracing Pakistani nationalism.

Waving Pakistani flags at a press conference at Larkana Press Club on Thursday, Abdul Hayee, former president of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz; Mohammad Qasim, ex-general secretary; Mukhtiar Ahmed, Hallar, Jamaluddin, Mashooq, Sabir Ali, Hakim Ali and others previously associated with Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz, alleged that Sindhi nationalist outfits had been exploiting innocent people, particularly the youth, for their ulterior motives in the garb of righteous slogans of the ‘rights of Sindh’, while in reality they were working on the agenda of enemies by pitting them against the state.

The former leaders and workers, who belonged to Shikarpur, Khanpur, Qambar, Shahdadkot, Larkana, Kandhkot and Kashmore, said the nationalist outfits had hidden motives for their destructive policies. The leaders of such organisations and their families were funded by anti-state agencies and were enjoying luxurious life abroad, they said.

They said that youth were being used against the country and army through negative propaganda. “Pakistan has given us identity, rights and respect but we have been protesting against it in the past,” they said.

They appealed to the youth to focus on their education, play constructive and positive role for Pakistan and not become part of any conspiracy. “We all are part of one Pakistani nation,” they said.

“We assure the state and law enforcement agencies that we will remain sincere to the homeland from this day on and will distance ourselves along with our friends from such organisations,” they said.
