SWABI: Mohammad Jamil, a renowned politician, lawyer, one of the founders of Swabi Qaumi Mahaz and former district naib-nazim, passed away here on Friday after protracted illness. He was 75

The deceased was hailing from Marghuz village of Swabi and was one of the staunched leaders of Awami National Party (ANP). He was the only leader who once questioned late Begum Naseem Wali Khan for violating the party constitution.

He along with late Dr Mohammad Salim, former forest minister Awwal Sher Khan, ex-MPA Abdul Majid Khan and various other leaders and workers established Swabi Qaumi Mahaz in 1994.

He also remained district naib-nazim and at a later stage of his life he started writing in daily Express. He was counted among intellectuals and one of the distinguished politicians and brilliant lawyers.

Having no child, he left behind two widows and nephews to mourn his death.
