RAWALPINDI: The Federal Investigation Agency’s Cybercrime Islamabad continued its crackdown against individuals involved in online sexual harassment and blackmailing, and arrested a suspect.

Four mobile phones, two laptops, one CPU and other evidence were also recovered from him.

A spokesman for the FIA cybercrime said the arrest was made from Islamabad during a major operation, adding that the suspect, who was involved in blackmailing, shared edited photos of the victim on social media.

The suspect also sent objectionable material to the relatives of the victim and threatened the victim through WhatsApp, he added. Objectionable material was also recovered from the seized mobile phones and laptops.

The suspect has been arrested and investigation launched by the FIA. Timely challan will be submitted in light of concrete evidence and he would be punished as per law, the spokesman said.
