TAXILA: TikTok craze claimed the life of a teenage boy in Kamra town of Attock on Friday, police and rescue sources said.

They said Ibtisham Haris, 18, a native of Jinnah Colony, was shooting a video in Akbar Town for posting it on the popular short-video sharing application TikTok when he accidentally slipped into the gushing water of Ghazi Barotha water channel and drowned.

Police while quoting the family of the victim said the boy was the sole bread earner of his family who ran a cart in the evening besides attending classes in a college. The body of the youngster is yet to be recovered.

A Rescue 1122 spokesman said they had launched a search operation to recover the body.
