KARACHI: Attock Refinery Ltd (ARL) on Friday shut down its main distillation unit (32,400 barrels per day) to upgrade instruments.

In a stock filing, ARL said that given critically high diesel stocks, which were forcing the refinery towards shutdown, the unit will be brought back into operation as soon as the diesel stocks/ullage situation improves.

The company said that normal product supplies and crude receipts will continue during the shutdown period.
