KARACHI: A ceremony in connection with Pakistan Air Force Day was held at the grave of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed in Karachi on Saturday.

Air Vice Marshal Amir Shahzad placed a wreath at the grave and offered prayers for Rashid Minhas Shaheed.

A contingent of the PAF presented a salute at the grave of Shaheed pilot officer.

Rashid Minhas was born on 17th of February, 1951 in Karachi.

He embraced Shahadat on 20th of August, 1971 while foiling enemy’s attempt to hijack a warplane.

Air Force Day is celebrated across the country on 7th of September every year after the annual celebrations of Defence Day.

Air shows and other programmes mark the Pakistan Air Force role in defending the nation in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1965.
