RAWALPINDI: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Monday asked PTI leadership to behave maturely and not spoil the peaceful environment of the country.

“The doors of the Governor House are open to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and I will ask him not to spread unrest as politics cannot be run in ‘Mola Jat’ style,” Mr Khan said during his visit to Jamia Taleemul Quran in Raja Bazaar.

The governor said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Gandapur should avoid irresponsible behavior, criticising his statement about journalists.

In the meeting with Maulana Ashraf Ali, the Punjab governor appreciated his services for the promotion of religious tolerance.

Later talking to mediapersons, Governor Khan said Madressah Taleemul Quran was a great seminary which was established before the creation of Pakistan.

“The madressah is playing a constructive role in maintaining the atmosphere of religious brotherhood.

The students of this madressah are rendering services all over the country,” he said, adding that this country was the dream of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and was achieved on the basis of the Kalma Tayyaba.

The Punjab governor said the atmosphere of brotherhood, peace and love needed to be established in the country.

He paid tributes to the assembly of 1974 and the religious scholars who contributed to the legislation regarding Khatam-i-Nabuwat.

“We will not allow conspiracies against Khatam-i-Nabuwat,” he added.
