KARACHI: Prof. Ghafoor Ahmed, Secre­tary-General of the United Democratic Front, yesterday [Sept 9] called for resumption of talks with the ruling party to solve national issues particularly political problems in a spirit of accommodation. Address­ing a news conference at the Karachi Jamaat-i-Islami office, the National Assembly member … welcomed the statement of Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto that the unanimity demonstrated in reaching a consensus in resolving the Qadiani issue would prove a harbinger for negotiations on other national issues. He reiterated that the UDF believed in solving all problems through negotiations and was opposed to violence. He said the Opposition will welcome talks with the ruling party if the latter adopted an attitude of accommodation.
