DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Punjab School Education Department has withdrawn a notification of assigning the additional charge of CEO education to Riaz Ahmad Malghani, district education officer, for alleged irregularities in the just-launched Nutrition Milk Programme at schools.

He has been replaced with Ismatullah Hamdani, principal of the Government High School, Walia Wala.

The initiative, which was launched on Sept 5 by the chief minister in Dera Ghazi Khan, was aimed at providing milk to children in four districts of Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh and Bhakkar.

Ismatullah Hamdani, principal of the Government High School, Vilaywala, was appointed acting CEO Education.

DC Shahid Zaman Luk said he was not aware of any reason for Mr Malghani’s removal.

He said there were instructions to post a proper official.
