LAHORE: The governing body of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Friday approved a layout plan for constructing shops on 10.8 kanals of land retrieved from land grabbers at Jinnah Market, Township.
During a meeting, participants also approved the construction of missing road links in LDA City housing schemes.
Over the next three financial years, the missing sections of Chenab Road, Neelum Road, Kunhar Road, Sutlej Road, Jhelum Road, and Hunza Road will be constructed in LDA City.
Additionally, the body approved the development of five key roads in the provincial capital and their missing links, with a request for funding from the Punjab government.
The meeting approved the recovery of development charges at revised rates from defaulters of the first and second ballots of LDA City, giving them a two-month window to make payments at the old rates.
A one-year extension was granted for payment schedules to defaulters of commercial plots and file holders in Jinnah Sector, LDA City.
The supervisory committee was assigned the authority to decide terms for the sale of new plots in Jinnah Sector, and approval was given for special feature charges for plots based on uniform DC rates.
The meeting also approved construction of a mosque in Block M of LDA Avenue-I.
Various other LDA-related matters were also discussed during the session.
TRAFFIC: The commissioner announced on Friday that traffic check camps would be established at 12 locations across the city to ensure smooth traffic flow.
The traffic police and Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) would jointly set up and oversee these camps.
The camps will focus on patchwork, streamlining U-turns, lane marking, encroachment removal, parking management, issuing challans and continuous monitoring.
Camps will be set up at Data Darbar, Urdu Bazaar, Sabzi Mandi, Ramgarh, Lal Pul, Gulistan Chowk, McLeod Road, Kashmiri Gate, Masti Gate, Delhi Darwaza, Niazi Adda, Chungi Amarsadhu and Chauburji Chowk.
