HARIPUR: Police recovered the dead body of a woman along Hazara motorway near village Mirpur, said a police official here on Friday.

He said that the police, on information from some passersby, reached the spot and shifted the body to hospital for autopsy. He said that according to doctors, the deceased, in her 30s, was apparently poisoned to death. They collected samples from thebodyand sent them to the forensic laboratory for testing to determine the exact cause of death.

The police official said that the circumstantial evidence showed that the woman, whose identity could not be ascertained yet, was poisoned somewhere else and the culprits had dumped her body in the area of Haripur district.

Meanwhile, a man waskilled when roof of his bedroom collapsed in Sohava village of Khanpur tehsil, police and hospital sources said.

Police quoted family sources as saying that Sher Dil, 35, was sleeping in one of the rooms of his mud house with his brother Nazir when the roof of the room caved in, killing him on the spot. However, Nazir escaped unhurt in the incident and hemanaged to get out of the room’s debris.

The villagers retrieved the dead body after hectic efforts and it was shifted to the tehsil headquarters hospital for further legal proceedings.
