KARACHI: A watchman was shot dead inside a private school in North Nazimabad on Friday.

Police said the victim, Ali Raza, 28, was gunned down inside the school building by a security guard, identified as Faheem, due to some personal dispute. The suspect managed to escape.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Hyderi Market SHO Nadeem Haider said suspect Faheem belonged to a private security company.

Central SSP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqi said that investigators found that the guard had an argument with Ali. The victim and suspect lived in the same building. Before fleeing, the suspect threw his 12-bore rifle and uniform in a water tank.

The police had recovered one spent bullet casing from the crime scene.
