KARACHI: A young man was killed when some people fired into the air in celebration of a wedding in Orangi Town on Friday, police said.

Iqbal Market SHO Aslam Khan said that during a marriage ceremony in Saleemabad, Sector-11, a group of friends started aerial firing in jubilation.

However, a bullet hit 24-year-old Arsalan Rasheed. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

The officer said that the suspects had been identified and efforts were underway to arrest them.
