QUETTA: The federal government on Friday notified the transfer and posting of 13 officers of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), including inspector general of police Moazzam Jah Ansari, to Balochistan with an immediate effect for serving in different areas.

IGP Ansari, a 22 grade officer, had already served as police chief of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

The decision in this regard was taken in the national apex committee meeting, which was also attended by Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir, following the August 26 attacks which claimed 52 lives.

According to an official notification, 13 officers from the 47th and 48th Common, including Atif Amir, Sardar Mohammad Shehryar Khan, Osama Amin Cheema, Zeeshan Ali, Rana Mohammad Dilawar, Shehzad Akbar, Akhtar Nawaz, Mohammad Usman, Owais Ali Khan, Rehmatullah, Khurram Mehsar, and Abdullah Ehsan, have been posted in Balochistan for one year.

“The Balochistan government may extend the officers’ services if needed,” the notification said.
