QUETTA: Veteran TV artist Naseer Ahmed, who has been suffering from poor health and poverty for quite some time and unable to walk, was transferred to CMH Quetta on Friday on the directives of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.

Mr Ahmed’s both legs were paralysed in an accident some time ago and he had no mean to take care of himself or his family.

He had set up a camp along with his three children in front of the Quetta Press Club, saying he had no resources to feed his children and get medical treatment for himself.

He said if the government did not help him, he would sell out his children.

On Friday, CM Bugti took notice of the matter after the old artist staged a protest in front of the Balochistan Assembly.

The CM met Mr Ahmen and after listening to his grievances, he was admitted to CMH Quetta for treatment.

Mr Bugti directed that complete treatment be provided to the artist along with a wheelchair and compensation.

The CM assured Mr Ahmed that he would take care of the children like his own children.

The chief minister said that the banner reading “children for sale” was so painful that he could not ignore it.

“I will bear the expenses needed for raising these children, it is my responsibility,” he promised.

Later, the chief minister took the banner from the hands of the children and showed his affection towards them.

He said that after preliminary examination at CMH, Mr Ahmad would be shifted to a hospital in Karachi for treatment.

The artist and his children thanked the chief minister for his help.
