He told reporters that Pakistan had accepted the terms proposed by the United Nations Commission for India and Pakistan for a ‘settlement of the dispute’.
He referred to two other matters... . One related to the control of the Rivers Ravi, Beas and Sutlej which, he said, had become “international” as a result of partition. Chaudhri Zafrullah Khan said that the third issue was the question of evacuee property.
[Meanwhile, according to news agencies in Karachi,] Mr Adam Taylor Smith, former Director of Operations, Civil Aviation Department, was yesterday [Sept 13] found guilty of committing fraud against the Government of Pakistan, of abetment of forgery, and of breach of the Indian Aircraft Rules and sentenced to two years’ simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs4,600.
