TOBA TEK SINGH: FIA: The FIA Cybercrime Wing in Faisalabad arrested two people on Sunday for online sexual harassment and blackmail.

According to an FIA spokesperson, Muhammad Ahsan and Ali Raza had edited and fabricated pictures of a woman. They sent them to her and her relatives for blackmail, and also shared them on social media. The woman filed a complaint with the FIA, which led to the arrest and seizure of their mobile phones containing objectionable images.

In a separate raid in Faisalabad, the FIA arrested franchise employees Zulqurnain, Ejaz Khan and Waseem Abbas from Jhang for illegally activating thousands of mobile SIMs and possessing duplicate identity cards.

CLASH AVERTED: A potential clash between the Muslim and Ahmadiyya communities was averted on Sunday in Gojra, Chak 369 JB Jodha Nagri, due to the intervention of police and religious leaders.

Reports said that the conflict arose after the mother of an Ahmadi, Sultan Sikandar, was buried in a shared graveyard.

Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan leader Mian Mazhar Mahmood Ghazali and Bazm Khatme Nabuwat president Nadeem Bhalli announced a protest.

However, former Gojra Bar Association president Toqeer Khan mediated between police and protesters. It was agreed that the Ahmadiyya community would immediately construct boundary walls around their graves to separate their burial grounds from those of Muslims.

SUSPENDED: Superintendent of Police Abid Zafar suspended Rodala Police ASI Allah Yar and constables Ghazanfar and Ilyas from job on Sunday for conducting an illegal raid and torturing Sughra Bibi.

Also, four Dolphin police officials publicly tortured Imran on Sargodha Road. After a video of the incident went viral on social media, CPO Kamran Adil ordered the arrest and suspension of the officials involved, Qamar Rauf, Hafiz Maajid, Adeel and Naeem Zain. SSP Investigation Rana Abdul Wahab was tasked with conducting an inquiry.

FIRE: A rickshaw passenger was burnt alive and another injured after a fire broke out in the rickshaw on Chiniot Road at Jhang on Sunday near Nawan Meel bus stop.

Reports said a truck hit the rickshaw after which rickshaw caught fire. Hammad Aslam of Lahore was burnt alive while the other one identified as Imran Ali of Jhang was seriously burnt. He was shifted to Jhang DHQ hospital.

AZMA: Punjab Information Minister Azam Bukhari inaugurated an Islamic calligraphy exhibition in Faisalabad on Sunday, featuring over 100 pieces.

She, along with Punjab Local Government Minister Zeshan Rafiq and Parliamentary Secretary Shazia Rizwan, held a meeting with officials about Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions.

During a visit to Faisalabad Press Club, Ms Bukhari promised to address journalists’ concerns, pledging a yearly grant of Rs2.5 million and vowing to resolve the long-standing issue of residential colony allotments for media persons.
