This was crux of the speeches made at the ‘Chitral Economic Development Conference 2024’, which was held on the second day of the Chitral Expo on Sunday.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KP-BOIT) organised the moot.

Those who spoke on the occasion included special assistant to chief minister for industries, commerce and technical education Abdul Karim Tordher, local MPA Fatehul Mulk Ali Nasir, Director General Trade Development Authority of Pakistan Mohammad Nasir, vice-chairman KP-BOIT Syed Mohammad, business facilitation officer Iqbal Sarwar and others.

They said hydropower generation was yet another sector, which had tremendous potential in all the valleys of Chitral. They said investment in this sector could help provide employment opportunities to thousands of skilled and unskilled workers.

The speakers said that value addition of numerous local products could increase their marketability and fetch great profits for locals.

On this occasion, a panel discussion was also held in which the challenges and opportunities in different sectors of economy, including livestock, green energy, tourism and agriculture were discussed.

On the second day of the Chitral Expo, a large number of people visited the stalls and evinced deep interest in the items put on display.
