Jetty in Pasni

THE jetty in Pasni is a vital part of the fishing industry in Balochistan. For many years, the jetty has been the backbone of the local economy, providing livelihood to thousands of families dependent on fishing. Unfortunately, due to long-term neglect and lack of maintenance, the jetty has fallen into poor condition. This decline has severely affected the efficiency of fishing activities, and has reduced the overall economic output.

The need for the jetty’s reconstruction goes beyond the local level, as it is also crucial for the country’s seafood exports. More than 30 per cent of Balochistan’s fish catch is processed through this jetty, and its current condition poses a serious risk to both the local fishermen and the national economy.

Considering the importance of Pasni jetty, the government should prioritise its reconstruction. This investment will not only revive the local economy, but also boost the country’s export capacity, leading to greater economic stability. Rebuilding the jetty will support national development goals and protect the live-lihoods of many people, ensuring long-term economic growth.

It is essential for the government to take immediate action to restore this critical infrastructure, securing the future of the fishing industry and its economic benefits.
