LAHORE: The Punjab Institute of Language, Art & Culture (Pilac) has planned a series of cultural activities throughout the month of September, coinciding with the Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) celebrations. To mark this special occasion, it will broadcast a three-day special transmission on its FM Punjab Rung Radio, reaching audiences in Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.

This transmission will feature programs on Seeratun Nabi (PBUH), Na’ats, special talks and interviews to highlight the themes of love, peace, and tolerance as exemplified by the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

In addition to the special transmission, Pilac will host a Mehfil-e-Samaa, featuring renowned Qawwal Sher Miandad. Similarly, a Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) conference will be held to engage children from the gypsy community to bring them into the mainstream of cultural and educational activities.

Moreover, a calligraphy exhibition is being inaugurated, showcasing works in various mediums that depict verses from the Holy Quran, sayings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the names of Allah.

Pilac will also commemorate the 226th Urs of Waris Shah, the legendary Punjabi poet and author of Heer, by holding an ‘All Punjab Heer Singing Competition’ where participants from across Punjab will showcase their talents. The competition offers attractive prizes: Rs100,000 for the first position, Rs75,000 for the second and Rs50,000 for the third. This annual event draws significant attention from Punjabi folk artists and audiences alike.
