CHARSADDA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan inaugurated a police facilitation centre here on Monday.

During the inaugural ceremony, IGP Akhtar Hayat Khan said police were being equipped with modern technology.

DPO Masood Ahmed briefed the IGP on the police facilitation centre, saying all services will be provided to the public under one roof there.

He said people could approach the centre forcharacter and police clearance certificates, stolen vehicle verification, theft report, lost property report, missing person report, identity card verification, extortion report, and tenancy agreement.

“Information about facilities for delivery and collection of forms, public complaints, obtaining driving license, learner permit, and verification of vehicles will be provided at the centre,” he said.

The IGP appreciated the “revolutionary initiative,” saying providing services to citizens on their doorstep is one of the police’s first responsibilities.

“This initiative will reduce the distance between the public and the police and the public’s confidence in the police will increase,” he said.
