SHANGLA: The police on Monday arrested an impostor along with four accomplices for impersonating a Pakistan Army major and recovered arms and ammunition, a fake identity card and SIM cards from his possession.

Alpuri sub-divisional police officer Shah Hussain disclosed this to reporters during a presser, where the impostor and his accomplices were also presented before the media.

Mr Hussain said a police mobile intercepted a speeding pick-up vehicle at the Chatri turn after it sped away when the police signaled it to stop at Shangla Top checkpost. He said the vehicle was coming from Swat.

SDPO Hussain said upon inquiry, the man seated behind the steering introduced himself as an army major Imran Ali. “During further interrogation, the person said he was a source for an intelligence agency, but failed to produce documents to corroborate his claim that increased the police’s suspicion.”
