KARACHI, April 1: Habib Bank, once a force to be reckoned with, takes on PAF in the opening match of the Inter-departmental basketball championship which begins at the National Sports Training and Coaching Centre court Sunday at 3.00pm.

The draws were taken out by the Pakistan Amateur Basketball Federation (PABBF) ad hoc committee at the venue Saturday. Secretary ad hoc committee, Col (retd) Naseem Butt, and members of PABBF technical committee Shaikh Mohammad Naeem and Abdul Nasir and representatives of teams, were present on the occasion.

The teams have been drawn in two pools. Pool ‘A’ consist of defending champion, Army, POF Wah, Wapda, Rangers, PAF and Habib Bank while pool ‘B’ comprised last year’s losing finalist, Railways, HEC, Police, Navy and KESC.

With the exception of Wapda and HEC, all other outstation teams have reached here for the event. The two outfits are due to reach here by Sunday morning.

Sunday’s fixtures: 3.00pm: Habib Bank v PAF; 4.00pm: Army v POF Wah; 5.00pm: Police v KESC; 6.00pm: Railways v Navy; 7.00pm: Wapda v Rangers.
