Eid Milad celebrated with religious fervour across Sindh

KARACHI: Eid Miladun Nabi was celebrated on Tuesday throughout Sindh with religious fervour, solemnity and a renewed pledge by the Muslims to uphold and promote Islam following the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).

In Karachi, three main processions were staged in South district. One was taken out in the afternoon from Memon Masjid and after passing through M.A. Jinnah Road, Tibet Centre, Regal Chowk, Shahrah-i-Liaquat, it culminated at Arambagh Masjid.

Another was taken out by the Jamaat Ahl-i-Sunnat from Memon Masjid. It ended at Nishtar Park after passing through M.A. Jinnah Road, Tibet Centre and Numaish.

The third, organised by Dawat-i-Islami, emerged from Kakri Ground and ended at Memon Masjid after passing through Nawab Mohabbat Khanji Road, Jamaat Khana, G. Allana Road and Tower.

In other parts of the city, many small processions from different areas were taken out which after marching through various routes, merged into the main processions. But some remained confined to their localities.

Various religious, social, cultural and educational organisations held mahafil-i-milad and seerat conferences. Quran khawani was also organised in several city mosques while special prayers were offered for the integrity, solidarity and progress of the country and the Ummah.

In Hyderabad, the central procession was taken out by Anjuman Fidayan-i-Pakistan in the city while Anjuman Fidayan-i-Rasool brought out its 65th procession in Latifabad in the morning, led by Haji Gulshan Ilahi, Mahboob Sherwnai, MPA Sabir Kaimkhani and others.

The central procession in the city started from Madina Masjid in Seroghat area in the lead of Mufti Mohammad Ibrahim Sohu Qadri, Allama Maqbool Hussain, the deputy chief of Markazi Jamat-i-Qariya Mahmodiya, Usman Kennedy, Arif Noorani and others.

Owais Noorani, son of late Allama Shah Ahmed Noorani, addressed the participants of the procession at Kohinoor Chowk. Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan-Noorani (JUP-N) leader Sahibzada Zubair led a separate rally from Tikona Park in Hirabad. He also addressed the participants of his group’s rally from the same stage at Kohinoor Chowk as is practice in vogue since the split in Shah Ahmed Noorani’s JUP several years ago.

The participants of the procession were received by Hyderabad Mayor Kashif Shoro, CM’s special assistant Abdul Jabbar Khan, Deputy Mayor Saghir Qureshi, MQM district organiser Zafar Siddiqui, party parliamentarians Rashid Khan, Nasir Qureshi, Wasim Hussain, Abdul Aleem Khanzada and others.

Several reception camps were set up by social organisations, political parties like the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM), Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Sunni Tehrik, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf etc.

The Jamat Islah-i-Muslimeen brought out a big rally from Umer Islam Masjid, Gari Khata while Dawat-i-Islami from Faizan-i-Medina in Effendi Town.

In Mirpurkhas, children, young and old participated in the processions organised by different religious organisations in the lead of Ulema. The processions took rounds in different parts of the city.

Mahafil-i-milad were also held at different places in the city.

Processions were also taken out in Mirwah Gorchani, Digri, Jhuddo, Naukot, Kot Ghulam Muhammad, Sindhri etc., amidst strict security arrangements.

In Nawabshah, main processions were taken out from Kohaat Badshah and Faizan-i-Madina. Rallies were taken out and congregations were also held in Sanghar and Naushahro Feroze districts. Ulema and scholars addressed the gatherings.

Similar processions were taken out in Sanghar, Naushahro Feroze, Moro, Tando Adam, Qazi Ahmed, Daur, Bandhi, Shahdadpur, Kandiaro, Mehrabpur, Khipro and other towns in which participants were reciting durood and naats.
