LAHORE: A six-day exhibition of paintings, titled Veils of Memory, by renowned artists from Sri Lanka, Mueen Saheed and Bilaal Saheed, was inaugurated at the Lahore Museum on Saturday.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Lahore Museum Director Nabila Irfan.

Talking to the media, Ms Irfan said the government was leaving no stone unturned to promote tourism in the province. She said the motive behind such international exhibitions was to enlighten the people about the culture and heritage of different countries. The exhibition of photographs from Thailand held before gained a lot of popularity.

The museum director was of the view that the basic aim behind the existence of museums was to inform the world about the regional history and culture and in this regard, Lahore Museum’s educational program was working with its full potential.

While speaking to the media, Mueen Saheed thanked the museum and the Punjab chief minister under whose vision the foreign artists were being appreciated in Pakistan. He said that more of the similar exhibitions must be held.

Kids Carnival: The Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) has launched its Kids Carnival.

The two-day festival, from Sept 21 to 22, at the Alhamra Arts Centre, The Mall, is designed to provide children with a memorable and educational experience. The event features a diverse line-up of activities for all ages, ensuring something for everyone, including magic shows, puppet theatre, storytelling, gaming zone, live face painting and outdoor play areas. Various stalls are also set up, offering interactive experiences and cultural insights.

LAC Executive Director remarked, “Alhamra is not just an arts council but a nursery of creativity where children can immerse themselves in their cultural heritage from an early age. This carnival is a significant step towards instilling pride in our traditions and providing quality family entertainment.”
