ATF officer martyred in Zhob attack

QUETTA: An officer of Balochistan Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) was martyred and three others were injured in an armed attack at Zhob-Dera Ismail Khan highway on Saturday night.

Officials said ATF personnel were on their way to Mani-Khawah when unidentified assailants opened fire at the pick-up they were travelling in near the Silaza area.

ASI Gohar Ali embraced martyrdom while ATF personnel Mohammad Shafiq, Amir Mohammad and Nooru­ddin suffered injuries.

Soon after the incident, security forces rushed to the scene of the incident and shifted the body and the injured to the trauma centre of district hospital in Zhob.
