Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again promised Pakistan’s “unwavering support” to the Palestinian cause during a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

In a post on his X account, the PM “strongly condemned the Israeli genocide of Palestinian people in Gaza and West Bank”, further condemning the destruction of mosques and churches within the Gaza Strip.

“[I] reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for [the] Palestinian cause and underscored [the] importance of [a] two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders under the relevant UNSC resolutions for sustainable regional peace,” the prime minister wrote.
