Man killed as his pistol goes off mistakenly

LAKKI MARWAT: A man was killed when he was cleaning a pistol and it went off mistakenly inside his house in Sakhi Kallay Adamzai area of Lakki Marwat district on Saturday.

Police said that the incident occurred in the limits of Tajori police station. They identified the deceased as Jahanzeb and said that his body was shifted to district headquarters hospital in Tajazai.

Farhada Bibi, the widow of the deceased, told police that she was preparing fodder for cattle when she heard a gunshot inside her bedroom where her husband was cleaning his pistol.

She said that her husband came out of the room in injured condition and fell on the ground. She said that her husband succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to hospital.

Police said that they had registered a case and began investigation.

Meanwhile, police on Saturday registered a case on court orders against two suspected robbers a week after a robbery incident took place near Aatashi Michenkhel area.

According to complainant Habibur Rehman, on Sep 21, he and his son Shamsher were going to their village Sakati Michenkhel after visiting cattle market in Begukhel town.

He said when they reached near Aatashi Michenkhel area, Ahmad Khan along with an accomplice appeared from the date palm trees and snatched cash from them.

The complainant approached the court of additional district and sessions judge-II for registration of an FIR against the robbers. Complying with the court orders, Dadiwala police registered a case against the suspects under relevant sections of law on Sep 28.
