QUETTA: Five district education officers of Balochistan have been put on notice over their failure to take action against over 90 absentee teachers, according to the provincial education department.

Notices have been sent to district education officers in Qila Abdullah, Awaran, Usta Muha­m­mad, Ziarat, and Kharan.

Some officers have also been suspended over their “deliberate negligence” regarding the issue of absent teachers.

Govt claims to have reopened 40 schools in Pishin Meanwhile, Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said 40 closed schools had been reopened in Pishin on the directives of CM Bugti.

In a statement issued by CM Secretariat, Mr Rind mentioned the schools had been closed due to the unavailability of teachers. Classes have resumed after the appointment of 40 school teachers on contract.
