A total of 136 cricket, 97 volleyball, and 146 football teams from South Waziristan region will participate in the festival, competing in various stages and categories.

The competitions will be held across 10 locations in Lower and Upper South Waziristan districts that have faced significant challenges in the past.

The purpose of the festival is to encourage youth to engage in academic and sports activities, fostering a sense of enthusiasm and passion among them.

Officials highlighted that there was no shortage of talent among the youth of Waziristan, but opportunities had been scarce. However, they said concrete steps were being taken to provide various activities for the youth.

They said that sports festival was a beacon of hope for the region, promoting peace, unity and development. As the festival progresses, it is expected to bring together people from all walks of life, celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

With the support of Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps, this initiative is a significant step towards empowering the youth of Waziristan and providing them with opportunities to excel in various fields, the officials said, adding that as the region continued to move towards peace and stability, this gala would undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping the future of its youth.

The festival has already witnessed enthusiastic participation from local youth, with thrilling matches and competitions held in various sports categories. The event has not only provided a platform for the youth to showcase their talent but also promoted a sense of unity and belonging among the participants.

“As the festival continues, it is expected to attract more participants and spectators, fostering a sense of community and celebration in the region,” they said.
