RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has dismissed four officials including, the missing Deputy Superintendent Mohammad Akram and Assistant Superintendent Riaz Khan of Adiala jail Rawalpindi after they were found guilty in the investigation of murder of a prisoner who had been languishing in the mental ward of the jail.

The Punjab Home Department has also issued a notification for the dismissal of the officers and personnel of Adiala jail.

A statement issued by the home department said the officials were dismissed after being found guilty in the investigation of the murder of a mentally ill prisoner Mohammad Ehsan.

According to the notification, seven employees, including Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Akram, were found guilty in the inquiry, and four of the seven employees were recommended for dismissal.
