They business community’s representatives also seconded the decision to remove stalls of mobile phones and watches on footpaths.

The tehsil municipal officer held a meeting with the traders and their representatives and informed them that handcarts, stalls and temporary shops on footpaths would be removed without further delay.

EYE disease: The district health authorities issued an advisory in the wake of spreading of an eye epidemic commonly known as Ashob e Chashm among children of schools, advising them not to shake hands, rub their eyes and use prescribed drops.

Dr Amir Niazi, an eye specialist, said that public at large should avoid sitting closer to people affected by the disease and sharing clothes and caps with them.

He advised the patients to regularly wash their eyes with water and take the drops, prescribed by the qualified eye specialists, especially before going to bed and do not rub the eyes. He advised not to buy costly eye drops which would only benefit the companies, and not them.

The eye specialist added that the disease would disappear within two days with these precautionary measures.
