ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) on Thursday appealed to all political forces to shun their differences and unite on the issue of Palestine.

The appeal was made after JI emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman along with the party’s senior leaders visited PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari at his residence in the federal capital on Thursday.

Later, at a joint press conference with Mr Rehman, the PPP chairman announced he would take part in the JI rally to be staged in the federal capital on Wednesday to express solidarity with the people of Palestine.

“Although we [PPP and JI] have political differences, we are on the same page on the issue of Palestine and all parties should also be on the same page on this issue,” he said.

He praised the JI leadership for constantly raising the issue of Palestine and genocide of Muslims at the hands of Israel.

He said the JI march is an opportunity for all political forces to sit together to resolve their differences.

The two leaders discussed the war imposed on the Middle East by Israel and the current situation in the region.
