ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday issued notice to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Bushra Bibi’s petition seeking post-arrest bail in a case related to an expensive Bulgari jewellery set obtained from Toshakhana at a throwaway price.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb heard the bail petition.

Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry — the counsel for Bushra Bibi, wife of former prime minister Imran Khan — informed the court that his client was arrested on July 13. He requested the court to fix the case for regular hearing on Monday.

Justice Aurangzeb while adjourning the case directed the registrar office to fix a date for hearing during the next week.

On Sept 30, Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand had rejected the couple’s petitions in the same case.

According to the prosecution, the jewellery set worth Rs71.5 million was retained by the former premier and his spouse for Rs2.9m only.
