THE ongoing genocide of Palestinian people, which started on Oct 7 last year, has already claimed more than 41,000 lives; 70 per cent of them being innocent children and women. So far, there has been only half-hearted efforts by global powers to put an end to the misery of the Palestinians.

After the collapse of the erstwhile Yugoslavia in 1992, Serbian forces, too, had started a campaign of ethnic cleansing of Bosnian Muslims. Till 1995, the Serbs had killed more than 50,000 Bosniaks. The genocide could stop only after Nato, led by the United States, launched Operation Deliberate Force against the Bosnian Serbs.

In Gaza, however, no such effort has been made by the US or anyone else within Nato. Instead, helpless Palestinians have been left at the mercy of indiscriminate air strikes by Israel that are still continuing as ruthlessly as ever. And the air strike are continuing only because the US continues to be the leading supplier of arms and ammunition to Israel.

Throughout this period of utter Israeli madness, American support has remained so strong that the itself US appears to be a Zionist state that is supporting another Zionist ally. This stark contrast between US policies related to the war in Bosnia and the current Israeli belligerence can only be attributed to a strong, dominant Jewish influence that controls US policies.
