Faisalabad man arrested over blasphemy allegation

TOBA TEK SINGH: A garments factory worker in Faisalabad was arrested on Sunday under blasphemy charges. According to the first information, the suspect, a worker at a garments factory on Satiana Road, had blasphemous content on his mobile phone, which he allegedly forwarded to others. Police arrested the suspect and seized his phone. He has been moved to an undisclosed location.

COP MURDERED: A police constable was murdered in his village, Chak 191 RB Moulowani Birlan, in Chak Jhumra, Faisalabad, on Sunday. Shahid Haleem was at a local grocery shop when his opponents opened fire on him. He was rushed to the THQ Hospital in Chak Jhumra but succumbed to his wounds. Station House Officer Ali Ikram Goraya said that Haleem, who was stationed at Faisalabad’s Kotwali police station and serving at the district court, had an ongoing family dispute regarding a marriage. A special team has been formed to arrest the killers.

ACCIDENT: A 14-year-old underage driver, Nabeel Yaqub, was killed on Sunday after his motorcycle rickshaw collided with an electricity pole on Mehrabad Road, Mianchannu, Khanewal. A 13-year-old passenger was critically injured and taken to THQ Hospital. His identity remains unknown.
