KARACHI: A suspected robber was killed by a policeman despite being shot in a Malir area on Monday.

The Al-Falah police said that two armed robbers attempted to rob Constable Wajid Majeed near Millat Garden. The policeman put up resistance and the robbers shot him and tried to escape. However, Wajid pulled out his pistol and fired back on the muggers, wounding one of them.

The police said that the wounded suspect was arrested and taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where he died during treatment. His accomplice managed to escape, they added.

The constable was also shifted to a hospital for treatment, they said, adding that he was posted at Security I branch of the police.
