SUKKUR: A gang of dacoits killed a passenger, wounded several others and kidnapped three drivers after firing at moving vehicles on a section of the National Highway near toll plaza within the jurisdiction of B-Section police station in Ghotki late on Monday night.

Adeel, a resident of Layyah, Punjab; died instantly while Dad Mohammad, Ali (driver), Ms Sardaran and Ghulam Mustafa suffered injuries, when the dacoits’ gang suddenly came out of nearby riverine area and opened straight fire at moving vehicles.

When the vehicles came to a grinding halt after the firing, the dacoits kidnapped three drivers, Abid Ali, a resident Ghotki; Ameen, a resident of Rahimyar Khan, and Sona and disappeared into the riverine area.

Police officials said that police had gone after the dacoits while the wounded had been shifted to Rahimyar Khan hospitals and the dead body would be handed over to heirs after post mortem examination.
