KARACHI: Residents of Karachi experienced a hot day on Tuesday when the mercury soared to 39 degrees Celsius under the influence of a high pressure area recently formed in lower atmosphere over the Arabian Sea, the Met department stated.

A day earlier, the maximum temperature recorded in the city was 37.5°C degrees Celsius.

According to the Met department’s advisory, Karachi’s weather is likely to remain hot to very hot and dry over the next four to five days under the current system’s influence.

“The day-time temperature is likely to range between 38°C and 40°C with surface wind to remain northwesterly most of the time,” it says.

The maximum temperature recorded was 39°C with 36 per cent relative humidity, whereas the minimum temperature was 26°C with 70pc relative humidity.
