Let sanity prevail

THE situation prevailing in the country is so bad that one can only marvel at the manner in which we have touched such a low. It is difficult to find a parallel in history where the leadership of any nation may have destroyed its own country with such merciless precision.

We have now reached a point where even the premier institutions are no more above board. The debate is no longer about institutions, but about the person who may take charge of its affairs.

One can only hope that the military and civil leadership even at this late hour will have the good sense to let go of personal egos and return to the path of institutional supremacy.

All the relevant stakeholders should come together to charter out a decisive course of action that would potentially steer us away from the present mess.
