Retired Lt-Gen Satti made new chairman of FPSC

ISLAMABAD: The government has appointed retired Lt-Gen Akhtar Nawaz Satti as the new chairman of Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC).

President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday administered the oath to the new chairman of the commission.

Also, Mohammad Shakeel Malik, a BS-22 officer, was appointed as secretary to the president. “Under section 14(1) of Civil Servants Act, 1973, the President of Pakistan is pleased to approve re-employment of Muhammad Shakeel Malik, a BS-22 officer of the Secretariat Group, as secretary to the president in the President’s Secretariat (Public) Islamabad on contract basis for a period of three years with effect from 15.01.2025, after retirement on 14.01.2025, on standard terms and conditions,” said a notification.

Karate champion praised

Later, President Zardari felicitated Shahzaib Khan on winning the World Karate Combat Championship title in Singapore. He presented a cheque for Rs100 million to Shahzaib Khan.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti was also present on the occasion.

The president praised Shahzaib Khan for bringing laurels to the country and expressed the hope that he would win more competitions in future.

The president said the youth of Balochistan was gifted with immense talent, highlighting the need to encourage them to excel in every field.
