OKARA: The body of 12-year-old Gul Bushra was found in fields near her village on Wednesday after she had been missing for two days.
According to the first information report, the mentally challenged girl left her home in Probanabad village to follow her elder sister, who had gone to the tubewell to wash clothes. However, she never arrived at the tubewell and did not return home.
After waiting in vain for her daughter’s return, Gul Bushra’s mother Ghulam Fatima filed a report of her disappearance.
The Dipalpur Saddar police registered a suspected abduction case against unidentified suspects.
Special police teams undertook a search operation and found the body in nearby village fields.
The Saddar police added Section 302, pertaining to murder, to the original FIR.
HIMMAT CARD: Out of 1,793 eligible registered people, 250 with special needs in the district received ‘Himmat Cards’ under the Punjab government scheme.
The distribution took place across all three tehsils in the district, with the main function held in Dipalpur tehsil.
A ‘Sahulat Counter’ (facility counter) has been established at the SWD office in each tehsil to assist cardholders, with officials from the district Baitul Maal and Punjab Bank present to facilitate the process.
